Get images under 100 KB without the guesswork
A 100 KB limit is common on application forms, school and university portals, classified-ad sites and support ticket systems. It is also a sensible size for images in emails and on web pages, where large files slow everything down. Instead of trying quality settings by hand, this page compresses each image to just under 100 KB automatically.
How it works
- The image is decoded in your browser — including HEIC photos from iPhones — and rotated the right way up.
- The best JPG quality is found. The tool tests quality levels and keeps the highest one that results in a file under 100 KB.
- Dimensions are reduced only if necessary. If a very large or detailed image is still too big at low quality, it is scaled down gradually until it fits.
- The result is listed with its new file size and pixel dimensions, ready to download.
When 100 KB is enough — and when it isn't
At 100 KB, a JPG photo around 900–1300 pixels wide usually looks clean on screens, which is plenty for websites, forms, emails and social media previews. It is not the right size for printing: for prints, keep the original or use a larger target such as 1 MB.
Tips for better results
- Resize to the size you need. If an image will be shown 800 px wide, set the maximum width/height option to 800 px — the remaining bytes give a sharper picture.
- Use WebP for websites. If your site supports it, WebP gives better quality than JPG at the same 100 KB.
- Crop away empty space. Backgrounds, borders and margins all cost bytes.
- Scanned documents compress better when they are evenly lit with a white background. For multi-page documents, consider making a PDF instead.

Images are processed by your browser on your own device, so nothing is uploaded and there are no limits on the number of images. Once the page has loaded, it even works offline.
