A fast, unbiased lottery number generator
Whether you are playing a local weekly draw or a massive international jackpot, this lottery number generator gives you instant, unbiased combinations. Instead of agonizing over which numbers to pick or relying on the same set of dates every week, you can use this tool to create completely random lottery numbers in seconds.
The tool is designed to be highly flexible, acting as a universal lotto number picker. You can configure it to match the exact rules of any game by setting the number of main balls, the maximum number in the pool, and any required bonus balls.
Because this quick pick generator runs entirely locally in your web browser, your numbers are completely private. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server, stored in a database, or tracked. You can generate as many combinations as you want, safely and securely.
Customizing your quick pick generator
Every lottery has its own specific format. While many use a standard single-pool draw, others use a two-drum system requiring both main numbers and bonus numbers. This lucky numbers generator lets you customize every aspect of the draw:
- Main Balls: Choose how many numbers are drawn from the primary pool (up to 20 numbers).
- Max Number: Set the highest possible number in the primary pool (up to 100). For example, if the lottery draws from numbers 1 to 49, set this to 49.
- Bonus Balls: If your game draws extra numbers from a second pool (often called a bonus ball or star), set the number of bonus balls required (up to 5). If the game doesn't use bonus balls, leave this at 0.
- Bonus Max: Set the highest possible number for the bonus ball pool.
- Lines: Generate between 1 and 20 tickets at the same time. This is perfect for office pools, syndicates, or players who buy multiple tickets per draw.
Once generated, the main numbers are automatically sorted in ascending order and padded with zeros (e.g., 04, 09, 12) so they are easy to read and copy onto your physical play slip.
Common lottery formats explained
To save you time, the tool includes one-click presets for the most popular lottery formats worldwide. While we don't use trademarked names, you will likely recognize these common structures:
- 6/49: One of the most classic lottery formats globally, used by national lotteries in Canada, the UK (historically), Germany, and many others. You pick 6 numbers from a pool of 49.
- 6/45: A slightly smaller pool, common in countries like Australia and Austria, offering slightly better odds than the 6/49 format.
- 5/69 + 1/26: The standard format for major US multi-state lotteries. You need five main numbers up to 69, plus one bonus number up to 26.
- 5/70 + 1/25: Another massive US multi-state format, requiring five main numbers up to 70 and a single bonus number up to 25.
- 5/50 + 2/12: A popular Trans-European format where players select five main numbers up to 50 and two additional bonus numbers up to 12.
- 6/33 + 1/16: A format often seen in regional or specialized draws, requiring six main numbers and one bonus number.
If your game isn't listed in the presets, simply adjust the input fields to match the rules on your play slip.
Why use a lucky numbers generator?
When picking numbers manually, humans are notoriously bad at being random. Most players rely on "lucky" numbers, which are usually tied to birthdays or anniversaries. Because months only have up to 31 days, numbers from 1 to 31 are heavily overplayed, while numbers from 32 upwards are frequently ignored.
While every combination has the exact same mathematical chance of being drawn, the numbers you choose can affect your payout. If you play a combination heavily skewed toward calendar dates (1–31) and you happen to win, you are statistically more likely to share the jackpot with other players who picked the same dates.
Using a random lottery number generator ensures your picks are evenly distributed across the entire number pool. This doesn't increase your chances of winning the jackpot, but it does reduce the likelihood of having to split the prize with dozens of other winners if your numbers do come up.
How the random draw works
Behind the scenes, this tool uses a randomized algorithm similar to a Fisher-Yates shuffle. When you click generate, the tool creates a virtual "pool" of numbers (for example, 1 through 69). It then randomly selects a number, removes it from the pool so it cannot be picked again, and repeats the process until your ticket is full. This perfectly mimics how physical lottery machines draw balls from a drum.
If your game requires bonus balls, the generator creates a completely separate virtual drum for those numbers, ensuring the main draw and the bonus draw remain independent, just like in real life.
If you need to generate numbers for other purposes, such as statistical sampling or games, you might also find our standard Random Number Generator useful. For tabletop gaming, try the Dice Roller, or use the Random Name Picker for raffles and giveaways.
