Frequently asked questions

Is the team assignment really random?
Yes. The list is shuffled with the Fisher–Yates algorithm using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so every arrangement is equally likely.
What happens if the names don't divide evenly?
Names are dealt out in turn like cards, so team sizes never differ by more than one. With 10 people in 3 teams you get teams of 4, 3 and 3.
How do I make random pairs?
Choose People per team and enter 2. With an odd number of names, one group will have three people.
Can I keep certain people apart or together?
Not automatically — every draw is completely random. If needed, reshuffle until you're happy, or create the teams in two rounds with separate lists.
Are the names saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is stored.
