Add text to your photos
Captions turn pictures into messages. Add a title to a thumbnail, a quote to a photo, a label to a screenshot, a date to an invitation or the punchline to a meme. This tool lets you put any number of text boxes on an image, style each one and drag them into place with your mouse or finger — no design software or account required, and your image never leaves your device.
Features
- Multiple text boxes, each with its own style.
- Drag to position on desktop and touch screens.
- Four font styles: sans-serif, serif, monospace and Impact for memes.
- Size, color, outline and bold controls.
- Multi-line text for longer captions.
- PNG or JPG download at the original resolution.
- Works with any language and emoji.
Ideas
| Use | Tips |
|---|---|
| Memes | Impact font, white with black outline, top and bottom |
| Quotes on photos | Serif font, light color on a dark area of the photo |
| Thumbnails | Large bold sans-serif with a strong outline |
| Screenshots | Small labels with a contrasting outline |
| Invitations | Several boxes for title, date and place |
Tips for readable text
- Use an outline when the background is busy — it keeps text readable on any color.
- Keep it short. A few large words read better than a long sentence.
- Leave margins. Text too close to the edge may be cut off when the image is cropped by social networks.
- Prepare the image first. Crop Image and Resize Image before adding text, and Blur Image to hide private details.
