How to use SVG to PNG

  1. 1Choose a scale (2× is a good default for high-DPI screens) or type an exact width in pixels.
  2. 2Keep Transparent background ticked, or untick it and pick a background color.
  3. 3Choose SVG files or drop them onto the page. Each file is converted immediately.
  4. 4Download the PNG files one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Convert SVG vector graphics to PNG

SVG is the ideal format for logos, icons and illustrations: it is tiny, scales to any size and stays perfectly sharp. But many places still don't accept SVG files — social networks, email clients, office documents, app stores, some content management systems and most image editors expect a regular bitmap. This converter renders your SVG files as PNG images in your browser, at exactly the size you need, with the transparent background intact.

Features

  • Scale presets of 1×, 2×, 4× and 8×, or an exact width in pixels.
  • Vector-sharp output: the drawing is re-rendered at the target size, never stretched.
  • Transparent background by default, or any solid background color.
  • Batch conversion of many SVG files at once, with a ZIP download.
  • Correct aspect ratio based on the SVG's size or viewBox.
  • Private: files are processed locally and never uploaded.

Choosing the right size

Use Suggested size
Website icon or logo 2× the size it is displayed at
App icon 512 × 512 or 1024 × 1024 px
Favicon 32, 180 and 512 px wide
Social media profile picture 400–800 px wide
Slides and documents 1000–2000 px wide
Print Width in inches × 300

Because SVG is resolution independent, it never hurts to export larger than you need and scale the PNG down later. Exporting at 2× gives crisp results on Retina and other high-density displays.

Why does my PNG look different?

Most SVG files convert perfectly. Differences usually come from resources the SVG doesn't contain itself:

  • Web fonts linked from Google Fonts or a stylesheet are not loaded, so text uses a default font. Convert text to outlines in your design tool before exporting.
  • External images referenced by URL or file path are blocked. Embed them in the SVG as data URLs instead.
  • Animations in the SVG are captured at their first frame.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PNG be blurry if I make it bigger?
No. The SVG is re-rendered at the target size before it is turned into pixels, so a 4× or 8× PNG is just as sharp as the original vector drawing — it is not an enlarged bitmap.
How is the output size calculated?
The tool reads the SVG's width and height (or its viewBox if no size is set) and multiplies it by the scale you choose. If you enter a width, that width is used and the height follows the original aspect ratio.
Is the background transparent?
Yes, by default. Areas the SVG doesn't paint stay transparent in the PNG. Untick the option to fill the background with any color, which is useful for apps that show transparency as black.
Why do fonts or images look different in the PNG?
For security, browsers render SVG files in isolation, so external resources — linked web fonts, images or stylesheets from other files or URLs — can't load. Text then uses a fallback font. Convert text to paths or embed images in the SVG to get an exact result.
Are my files uploaded?
No. SVG files are read and rendered by your browser on your own device and never sent to a server.
What is the largest PNG I can make?
Up to 16,384 pixels wide, and up to about 268 megapixels in total. Very large images need a lot of memory, especially on phones.
