  4. 4Preview the result and click Download.

Convert videos to the format you need

A video that won't play is frustrating: iPhone MOV files that Windows can't open, WebM screen recordings that a video editor rejects, or MKV files your TV doesn't understand. This video converter changes the container — and, where needed, the codecs — so your video works where you need it. Everything runs in your browser, so even private videos are safe.

Frequently asked questions

Which format should I choose?
MP4 is the safest choice for sharing, phones, TVs, social media and editing apps. WebM is ideal for websites. MOV is Apple's format, useful for Final Cut and iMovie. MKV is a flexible container popular for archiving.
Will converting reduce quality?
If the video and audio inside are already compatible with the new format, they're copied as-is with no quality loss and conversion is very fast. Otherwise they're re-encoded at high quality.
How do I convert iPhone videos (MOV / HEVC) to MP4?
Choose the MOV file and MP4 as the target. Note that iPhone videos are often encoded with HEVC (H.265); your browser must support decoding it — Safari and most recent versions of Chrome and Edge on supported hardware do.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser with WebCodecs. Your video never leaves your device.
Why did the conversion fail?
Your browser may not support decoding or encoding one of the codecs in the file, for example HEVC on some systems or H.264 in some Linux builds. Try another browser, or choose WebM, which is supported everywhere WebCodecs is.
