Cut videos in your browser

Long recordings often contain only a few seconds you actually want: the goal in a match, the toast at a wedding, the key moment in a meeting or a clip for social media. This video trimmer cuts away the beginning and end so you keep just the part that matters. It runs entirely in your browser — no app to install, no upload, no account and no watermark.

Features

  • Precise start and end times with sliders or typed times down to tenths of a second.
  • Fast, lossless trimming where possible — the video isn't re-encoded.
  • MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV input, same format output.
  • Preview before and after.
  • Private: processed on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does trimming reduce video quality?
Where possible, the video data is copied without re-encoding, so quality is unchanged and trimming is very fast. Because cuts in copied video have to start at a keyframe, the start can shift by a fraction of a second; if the video can't be copied, it is re-encoded at high quality.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser using WebCodecs, so private videos stay on your device and there are no upload limits.
What's the maximum file size?
There's no fixed limit, but very large files (several GB) need a lot of memory. On phones, trimming videos under 1 GB works best.
Which format will the trimmed video be?
The same container as the original — MP4 stays MP4, WebM stays WebM, MOV stays MOV. To change the format, use Convert Video afterwards.
Why does it say my browser isn't supported?
The tool needs WebCodecs, which is available in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Opera, Safari (16.4+) and Firefox (130+).
